A report by Odekro, the governmental agency watchdog which often marks the performances of ministers, MPs and other public officials, has found Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong as one of the laziest MPs in the entire country.
Agyapong, per the recent report, is one of the MPs who absents themselves most from the house, often without permission.
The MP often spends a lot of time in the media, making numerous appearances on both his own stations and on other channels.
However, he has apparently been absent from the house without permission more times than is allowed by law.
Article 97 (1) (c) of the 1992 Constitution says Members of Parliament who absent themselves from parliamentary sitting for 15 times or more without the written permission of the Speaker must be made to vacate their seats.
Kennedy Agyapong has absented himself without permission 20 times for the first session, 27 times for the second and 14 times for the third session.
If we’re going by law, Agyapong should have vacated his seat a long time ago.
