Manchester United are ready to swoop for Chelsea target Federico Bernardeschi if they cannot tie up a deal for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
United have been tracking Perisic since the end of the season and they are prepared to part with £26m to sign him.
That amount, though, is some way short of Inter’s £44m valuation and they are refusing to lower their demands.
It means United are being priced out of a move for the Croatian and, according to reports in Italy, they could swoop for Bernardeschi instead.
The forward was in fine form for Fiorentina last season and he is already a target for Chelsea and Juventus.
Bernardeschi does have a price tag of close to £40m, but given the fact he is 23 United may feel he is better value for money than a deal for the 28-year-old Perisic.
