Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira hopes to prove himself to new manager Jose Mourinho in preseason.
He struggled for opportunities under Louis van Gaal during the season and was excluded from all but one of the last 17 matchday squads of the Dutchman’s reign.
Pereira is optimistic about his chances of more game-time under Mourinho and is also expected to participate for Brazil at the Rio Olympics.
He said: “It was a very good first pre-season with the team for me. The weather was great in America and lent itself to some really good training sessions and the games were played at a high level.
“I learnt a lot, but mostly that you have to represent your club always in the best way, both on and off the pitch, and that you must always be professional.
“The goal was really special, but for me just being with the team and seeing all our fans was great.”
He added: “I have been to China once before and it’ll be nice to visit again and play in front of the fans. You can see that football is a huge part of the culture there and it is very nice to see such passion.”
