Another United defensive woe as Donald Love struck down with hamstring problem

Manchester United were dealt yet another injury blow with defender Donald Love sustaining a hamstring injury.

The 21-year-old suffered the injury in the U21 game against Middlesbrough on Monday and could be out of action for at least a week.

Scottish youngster Love made his full debut in the 2-1 defeat by Midtjylland in the first leg of the Europa League tie a fortnight ago after coming on as a second-half sub in the Premier League against Sunderland on February 13.

His possible absence is a blow for Louis van Gaal who was hoping Love could play back-up to Guillermo Varela who is the only fit right-back at present as United’s injury list swells back to 13 players.
