Arsenal legend Ian Wright has slammed Manchester United’s style of football.
Wright has criticised Louis Van Gaal for his side’s pedestrian pace when looking to open up their opponents.
He told The Sun: “How many times in the past were United defending a corner or free-kick one minute and celebrating a quickfire breakaway goal the next?
“It became such a standing joke in their games that commentators would often say ‘so-and-so’s in trouble now they’ve got a corner!’
“Yet these days you can nip out to buy a pie and a cuppa and they’ll still be building the same attack when you return to your seat.
“LVG’s stars are too keen to turn back towards their own goal, rather than press forward, and that will never be accepted by United fans.”
