Ashley Young says Manchester United are confident of mounting a title challenge this season.
With the Reds’ pre-season campaign over, all attention now switches to this Sunday’s Community Shield match against league champions Leicester City at Wembley Stadium.
Asked if United can challenge for major honours this season, Young told MUTV: “Of course we want to do that. Get back to winning ways, winning trophies.”
“A club the size of United should be pushing for the title and I believe, with the squad we’ve got, we’ll be doing that this season.
“In another few days, we’ve got the Community Shield and it’s vitally important everyone gets minutes.”
“Everyone is delighted to get those but I’m not sure how the legs are feeling right now. We’re looking forward to Sunday’s game now.”
