Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho offered some hope to Daley Blind during yesterday’s introductory media conference.
It’s been claimed Blind is not a Mourinho-type and the manager wants to shift him out. The utility has been linked with Arsenal.
However, Mourinho left the door open to Blind staying when discussing his team plans for next season.
Asked about utility players, the manager said: “One or two is fine, because if you are in trouble you always need one or two guys who can fill the space.
“If you have three suspensions in your defence, you need a left back or a midfielder who can help.”
Interestingly, Blind, while he featured at centre-half last season, arrived at United as a midfielder/left-back.
