Manchester United would get rid of manager Jose Mourinho before selling star midfielder Paul Pogba, according to one pundit.
The midfielder, a World Cup winner with France, has been the subject of speculation in recent days concerning both a possible transfer to Barcelona and his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho.
BT Sport pundit Jermaine Jenas reckons the former Juventus star will stay at Old Trafford past the end of the month, with Mourinho’s departure more likely.
âI can only see going one way unfortunately. I donât think it will go Mourinhoâs way,â Jenas exclusively told Express Sport.
âI think they would [rather get rid of Mourinho] because as a club it makes more sense to do so.
âPlayers are so powerful these days and then thereâs the amount of money that Paul Pogba makes that football club, the amount of pull in terms of players coming to the club with Pogba there, the fact he makes them genuinely better as a team.
âThey can replace Mourinho with another very good manger, there are plenty out there, and thatâs the unfortunate position weâre in.
âI think Mourinho is also quite stubborn and I still think heâs right to be that way.
âI think some of the best managers in the world have that about them and they know whatâs right, whatâs wrong and what they need to win games. If they donât get it, theyâre not happy.
âThatâs all thatâs happened with Mourinho this year. He knows heâs not got enough to win the league.â
