Burnley defender Keane holds no grudge against Louis Van Gaal

Burnley defender Michael Keane holds no grudge against Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal for selling him.

Keane joined the Clarets in January 2015.

But with a return to the Premier League firmly in his sights, he has not looked back since.

Keane said: “I’d played under LVG in pre-season and then the team wasn’t playing very well. I knew it was my last-chance saloon in the MK Dons game and it didn’t go well for the whole team, so I knew my time was up.

“It was frustrating because I felt if I had a run of games, even just two or three, I could have proven myself and still be there.

“But it just wasn’t meant to be and making the decision to come to Burnley is something I don’t regret at all.

“It’s made me a better player — and, hopefully, I’ll get back up to that level of football one day.”
