BVB chief Watze on Mkhitaryan: Man Utd offer too good to refuse

Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke admits Manchester United’s offer for Henrikh Mkhitaryan was simply too good to ignore.

There’s claims that United’s €42 million offer is the richest for a player inside the final year of his contract.

Watzke admits in the end, BVB simply could not afford to pass on such a money making proposal.

“This transfer was for us made on the basis from an entirely new starting situation after a difficult period. Manchester has made us an offer of tremendous value.

“Had we knocked it back, the player would have transferred for free in 2017,” said Watzke.
