Michael Carrick was delighted for Manchester United’s youngsters after victory over Arsenal.
Carrick captained United to their gutsy win over Arsene Wenger’s side and praised Louis van Gaal’s willingness to give youth a chance.
Carrick said: “It’s just a real breath of fresh air.
“Football’s a great game and when you see young lads coming through for me it brings back memories of not quite scoring like he’s done but when you start out in your career, you get your chance and you want to take it.
“I think it’s a big boost for the whole club. It’s a good feeling now and hopefully with more to come.”
