Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has questioned whether Manchester United should offer Louis van Gaal a new deal.
Redknapp wrote in the London Evening Standard: “He’s obviously a top manager but United should wait to see how the team respond over the next few months to going out of the Champions League before trying to talk him into a contract extension.
“Of course, some fans want to get rid of him now and it is a massive disappointment for United to be knocked out from what was a very easy group.”
“They would have been doing cartwheels when the draw was made.”
“Manchester City’s group was a lot harder but they made it through, while United lost to PSV Eindhoven and Wolfsburg.”
“They should be wiping the floor with teams like that.”
