Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has likened Anthony Martial to Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert.
Kluivert played for the United boss at Ajax, Barcelona and for Holland and also had a spell in England with Newcastle.
LVG goes into today’s big battle at Liverpool revealing: “I compare him with Patrick.
“I remember Kluivert playing in a final when he was only 18 and scoring a goal. He has a similar body physically and also plays as a striker but can also play in different positions.
“It really is amazing that Martial has played in virtually every match for us.”
“I didn’t expect that because when we signed him, I expected this season to be a learning curve for him.”
“It is a very big compliment to Anthony he has played so much.”
“Players have to come to terms with being a Manchester United player.”
“At this moment, we can’t compete with the expectations we have created. The pressure is higher here.”
“But Martial has shown that he can cope with the rhythm and pressure of the Premier League.”
