Jamie Redknapp believes that Manchester United are still capable of turning things around in the 2nd leg of the Europa League Round of 16 clash against Liverpool.
United suffered an extremely disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of rivals Liverpool in the 1st leg on Thursday and many believe that the Red Devils do not stand a chance of overturning the deficit – especially on the basis of their poor performance at Anfield.
Nonetheless, former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp is not ruling out United’s chances as of yet and believes that the Premier League giants will be looking to prove many people wrong during the second leg at Old Trafford.
In his column for the Mail, Redknapp wrote: “Manchester United have been torn apart by fans, critics and former players this week but they showed character to come back from 1-0 down against West Ham.
“Now they have to do the same on Thursday.
“It’ll be tough against Liverpool but the players should have more than enough motivation — there are plenty of people they would love to prove wrong.”
