Manchester United are likely to be without Ander Herrera for their clash with Manchester City.
The Spanish midfielder missed the 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Thursday night despite being named as the designated player to speak at UEFA’s pre-match press conference.
Manager Louis van Gaal revealed after watching his team exit the Europa League that the 26-year-old trained as normal on Wednesday morning ahead of the game.
But asked if Herrera would be ready to return at the Etihad Stadium, the Dutchman replied: “I don’t know. Wednesday he trained with me and he was not injured.”
