Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is convinced of his place in England’s Euros team.
The centre-half, 26, is enjoying his best campaign in a United shirt during a tough season for the Old Trafford club but knows that there is still room to improve.
Smalling said: “I think we’ve had a good get-together. It’s a pity we didn’t finish off with another positive result and keep that consistency going but as a last game that’s disappointing.”
“Do I feel first choice for club and country? It’s good knowing at United I’ve been playing nearly every game and it’s nice to have played these two games for England.”
“At the minute the shirt’s mine and it’s down to me to make sure I keep it.”
