Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has said that the fans must not share his opinion of midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The Belgian international was booed and jeered by the home crowd as he was replaced by Bastian Schweinsteiger in the second half of the 1-1 FA Cup draw with West Ham United on Sunday.
However, Van Gaal, who praised the 28-year-old’s performance in the Europa League defeat to Liverpool on Thursday, once again had nice words for the player.
He said: “I think [Marouane] Fellaini played, again, a good match.
“He performed well in our game-plan so that [the crowd reaction] was disappointing but it was the only moment that I was disappointed.
“The fans were supporting our side in spite of two losses this week. Maybe they have another opinion to me.”
