Virgin Money has been unveiled as a new official partner of Manchester United ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League season.
The company, whose parent Virgin is owned by entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, is to become the official UK financial services partner of the 20-time English champions.
The four-year deal will see Virgin create club-branded credit cards, and will offer bonuses to customers relating to Manchester United’s on-field success.
“We’re going to create some very special products and offers designed especially for fans,” said Virgin Money chief executive Jayne-Anne Gadhia.
“We’re proud to be official partner of Manchester United FC, and this new partnership enables us to combine Virgin Money’s excellent products with the reach of Manchester United, one of the biggest football clubs in the world.”
Richard Arnold, Manchester United’s group managing director, added: “This partnership brings together for the first time two iconic brands – two industry leaders who have a reputation as innovators in their fields.
“I have every confidence the values we share will make this partnership a great success, above all for our loyal fans.”
