Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has claimed that assistant manager Ryan Giggs will help Anthony Martial become a better player.
The 20-year-old, who signed for £36million from Monaco in the summer, started his life at Old Trafford in remarkable fashion by scoring four goals in his first four appearances but since then, the goals have dried up and he has managed to score only two times in his last 15 appearances.
Despite his barren run, Martial is surrounded by experienced people who can assist in his development and former Red Devil Silvestre feels there is nobody better suited than Old Trafford legend Giggs.
“At a club like Manchester United, there are expectations. At some point he will start to feel the pressure.”
“He will improve and then people will forgive him if he doesn’t score in two or three games in a row,” Silvestre said.
“I think that Ryan will have a good relationship with Anthony to help him improve.”
“Even though Ryan was a winger, he played with strikers. He knows their attitudes, their movements, he knows how to read the game.”
“He will have the words and the will to build a good relationship with Anthony to help him improve.”
