David De Gea cleared of serious injury

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has avoided serious injury after breaking down before defeat at FC Midtjylland.

Medical tests demonstrated that De Gea has suffered no significant damage to his knee.

The Spanish goalkeeper pulled up while making a save in the warm-up ahead of United’s traumatic 2-1 defeat by FC Midtjylland in Denmark on Thursday night.

United’s medical staff were confident that the injury was not too serious and subsequent scans on Friday are understood to have shown that there is no damage to De Gea’s knee.
