Manchester United may be far away from Manchester City in the Premier League points tally, but they are winning one battle.
United are ranked as the world’s most valuable club, according to a report from Brand Finance.
The organisation publishes a report of the “Football 50.” It highlights the 50 most valuable clubs in the sport. United are currently on top of the list, ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
United are valued at £1.4 billion. Real and Barca are tied at £1.2 billion, while Bayern come in fourth at £1 billion.
The club’s fans will be hoping United’s impressive financial situation will help the club acquire the players needed to better challenge City next term.
Despite being almost certain of finishing second, most Manchester United fans would class the season as a failure. The club were dumped out of the Champions League in the Round of 16, while they were never involved in the title race with City.
