Manchester United striker Anthony Martial hopes a repeat of his performance earlier this season at Liverpool on Sunday.
The France international made an instant addition to the long and storied history of this fixture when he came off the bench to net a superb solo strike that sealed a 3-1 win for Louis van Gaal’s men at Old Trafford in September.
“It’s a high-intensity game that is very important for the fans and it’s one of the most viewed games anywhere in the world,” Martial told MUTV.
“From the minute I arrived, I was told that I’d got here at the moment that we were about to play against one of our big rivals.”
“I was told that I would have to be ready and waiting, so I made sure that I was prepared mentally and focused for the game ahead.”
“So the fact that I managed to come on made me feel really great and then it was even better to get on the scoresheet, as it allowed the supporters to get to know me and see what I could do as a player.”
“It was a really great start to my career at this club.”
