Porto wonderkid Diogo Dalot is set to undergo a medical this week as his move to Manchester United edges closer.
Last week it was reported the Red Devils were on the verge of a deal for the 19-year-old full-back and now it seems all set to go through as finalities are completed.
The transfer, worth £17.4million thanks to a release clause in the youngster’s contract, will see manager Jose Mourinho provide Antonio Valencia with a capable deputy as Matteo Darmian looks for a Serie A return this summer.
Dalot is a right-back but had a run in the Porto first-team this season at left-back in the absence of Alex Telles, facing Liverpool in the Champions League and contributing to a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw. This versatility will be an added bonus for Mourinho.
He is set to join Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred as one of Manchester United’s first signings of the transfer window.
