Luke Shaw could feature for Manchester United against Watford despite suffering a concussion for England on Saturday.
Shaw started for England against Spain but was stretchered off early in the second half after a clash of heads with Dani Carvajal.
The left-back was therefore thought to be completely ruled out of United’s next fixture, which falls just seven days after the incident.
According to FA guidelines, any player who suffers a concussion must not play for the next 14 days.
But United could argue that Shaw has been successfully treated in an ‘enhanced care setting’, and he could feature if seven criteria the FA have outlined are met.
BBC Sport claim that ‘United’s state-of-the-art medical facilities are understood to meet the requirements’, and so the player could feature against Watford if United’s medical staff deem his recovery sufficient.
