This Sunday, Manchester United face West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns. The Reds will hope to continue their form following their fourth consecutive win in all competitions against Watford on Wednesday night.
Louis van Gaal has several injuries to contend with. The good news, however, is Chris Smalling looks set to return to action following a brief spell on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury.
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Ashley Young and Bastian Schweinsteiger are only three of 13 players still out due to injury.
With this being said, who is likely to be in the starting XI for this weekend’s game?
David De Gea will maintain his place between the sticks, whilst Guillermo Varela is set to keep his place at right back after several good performances.
Daley Blind is likely to remain at centre back and he could be partnered by the returning Chris Smalling, whilst fill in centre-back Michael Carrick is set to be rested again.
The choice for left back is a tough one with both Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Marcos Rojo in contention. However, the Argentine Rojo is set to move back to the left side of the defence after recently returning from a knock he obtained whilst playing Arsenal.
Herrera will be hoping to continue in central midfield after a good performance and goal against Arsenal this past Sunday.
Now to who will join him in the centre of the park? Morgan Schneiderlin is in line to continue alongside the Spanish midfielder after a good couple of performances in recent games. Even with the returning Marouane Fellaini in contention for a start.
Juan Mata is set to keep his place in the number 10 role. The Spanish playmaker has put in his fair share of good performances as of late as well as a goal against Watford.
Anthony Martial returned against Watford on the right wing and could continue there if Marcus Rashford remains in the starting line-up. An inform-Memphis is set to start on the left wing.
Marcus Rashford will again feature as the sole striker. The 18-year-old has impressed since debuting against FC Midtjylland. He has scored four goals in his last three outings for the reds.
Predicted XI: De Gea, Varela, Smalling, Blind, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Martial, Mata, Memphis, Rashford.
