Mourinho admits Man Utd in a transition as opposed to Leicester stability

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho feels his side is currently going through an evolution phase.

The Portuguese oversaw his Red Devils win the 2016 Community Shield with a 2-1 lift over Leicester City at Wembley on Sunday thanks to a late winner from Zlatan Ibrahimovic following earlier goals from Jesse Lingard and Jamie Vardy.

After the match, Mourinho spoke of Claudio Ranieri’s reigning Premier League champions who have basically kept the same line-up as last season, as opposed to United who have gone through a raft of changes over the summer.

He said: “I think it’s nice and the spirit is good and to play against a team that is an end product, a team that is working together and plays exactly the same team as they had last season just without (N’Golo) Kante and (Andy) King playing instead.

“Leicester know the team they are and they are very automatic.

“We are in a process. We are changing the manager. We are changing a few players, we are trying to change the style of play, the principles of play so I think [the victory] was good.”
