Jose Mourinho has admitted that Manchester United cannot wait to get home from their pre-season trip to China.
The Portuguese has his United squad in the Far East to play their part in the Chinese legs of the the 2016 International Champions Cup which concludes after Monday’s clash with Manchester City in Beijing.
Mourinho, who saw his Red Devils lose 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on Friday, has indicated that this trip has not gone quite as planned and is looking forward to getting back to Manchester to properly prepare for the upcoming Premier League season.
“We cannot just run away and disappear and not play,” he said.
“We have to do the commercial activity which is very important for our club. We try to do it in the best organised way but sometimes there are factors you cannot control.
“Tomorrow (Monday) is the last day and it’s over. Then we can go home and train in good conditions where the players feel good and safe.”
He added: “We’re going to adjust but the most important thing is that people aren’t going to be injured.
“Today all the big clubs in the world are coming here to China. The club decides. The humidity and the conditions for training are not ideal but we have to adapt.”
