Gary Neville thinks Gareth Bale could be “the difference” for Manchester United if he moved to Old Trafford this summer.

The Red Devils finished the campaign with a massive 19 points behind Manchester City in the Premier League table and Jose Mourinho will be looking to bring in players that can close that gap.

Bale revealed that he would be considering his future this summer following Real Madrid’s 3-1 Champions League final triumph over Liverpool.

The Welshman wants to be playing more games next season, something that could be helped by Zinedine Zidane’s departure on Thursday.

He has been linked heavily with United in recent weeks and former defender and pundit, Neville, thinks he would be great for Mourinho’s men.

“I’ve got a lot of admiration for him as a player,” he told BBC Radio Manchester.

“I’d like to see Messi play for United or Ronaldo or Neymar or all these players, but the reality is they’ve got to want to come to the club.

“That’s the first question that needs to be asked.

“If he wants to come to United then absolutely, yes, because he’s a fantastic player and he is a game changer.

“For me, every top club is looking for that player who is the difference, who can turn the big games.”
