Sky Sports will offer Gary Neville an immediate return to punditry following his sacking as manager of Valencia.
The Spanish club parted ways with Neville on Wednesday after just four months and 28 games in charge at the Mestalla.
The former Manchester United captain left Sky to take up the position with Los Che but is expected to be offered another job with the broadcaster, if and when he wants a return to the commentary box reports the Telegraph.
Neville’s match analysis and special comments were highly valued during his time with Sky which prompted the TV station’s head of sport, Barney Francis, to suggest ‘the door will always be open’ for the 41-year-old.
During his time with Valencia, Neville oversaw 10 wins, seven draws and 11 losses in his 28 games which included a club record winless streak of nine La Liga matches.
