Louis Saha has backed Anthony Martial to emulate club legend Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.
While it remains to be seen if Martial will be able to justify his whopping £36million price tag (rising to £58m), there is no denying that the youngster has managed to make a very positive impact since his move to United from Monaco over the summer.
Former United striker Saha has been impressed by Martial’s exploits at Old Trafford so far and has now gone on to back the 20-year-old to following the footsteps of Real Madrid star Ronaldo who rose to prominence with the Red Devils.
Saha told the IBTimes UK: “I hope so. I hope Martial can emulate what Ronaldo did at United.
“Ronaldo came when he was 18 and had this little issue where he was not passing the ball. He had to learn and that took him time.
“When he clicked in his head, with the help of the manager, he became an amazing player and I hope that Martial will go in the same path.
“Martial has got the ability, strength, he is skilful and he is hungry to learn.”
