Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal heaped praise on youngster Marcus Rashford following his unforgettable debut in the 5-1 Europa League win over FC Midtjylland.
The 18-year-old was a late inclusion in the starting eleven following the injury to Anthony Martial in the warm-up and produced a first start to remember by scoring twice in the second half.
The brilliant debut contribution helped United win 6-3 on aggregate and prompted the following reaction from Van Gaal: “He was unbelievable.”
“In the first half, he ran too much to the sides.
“At half-time, I had to say to him that he should be within the width of the goal and he shall score.”
“He got his first two goals, which was fantastic for him.”
