Tahith Chong is on the verge of joining Manchester United this summer, and he has been impressed with the facilities there for young players.

It was announced earlier this month that the highly-rated Dutch youngster would be coming to Old Trafford after he took to social media to announce the move.

The youngster announced the move on Instagram last week, but the signing hasn’t officially been announced by the club as of yet.

Chong had been playing for Feyenoord Under-17s in the Premier Cup at United’s Carrington training complex when scouts had noticed him playing.

Premier League sides Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea were all keen on signing the player. However, it is United that has won the race for his signature.

He said that he has been in contact with some of his new teammates, and also that he is “definitely impressed” by the club facilities for upcoming young players.

“I’ve been there a few times and I am definitely impressed by the club. United have good accommodation for youth players and it is up to me to make that step,” he told FR12.nl.

Chong said in his interview that his parents “will go to England” with him because it is good to have their support through a crucial part of the players’ development as a player.

The player will join United’s youth academy which is headed by former midfielder, and one of the Class of 92, Nicky Butt and he will certainly be one to look out for in the future.

He added: “Through Instagram I have already had contact with three guys from the team, but otherwise I do not know yet the team.”

The winger will be eyeing a move into the first-team in the future, but for now, he will be looking to develop even more as a player and learn under Niky Butt as well as the coaches at Carrington.

Chong revealed he will begin in the under-18 side, currently managed by Tommy Martin after the sacking of Paul McGuiness.
