Things are certainly not getting any better at United – Owen

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has joined the chorus of criticism for Louis Van Gaal.

Owen was scathing in his assessment of United’s performance in Saturday’s 1-0 FA Cup win over Sheffield United and claimed that the Red Devils are not getting any better under van Gaal since his appointment at Old Trafford.

He told talkSPORT: “It has been that way for a good season and a half now and if anything it is getting worse. It certainly isn’t getting any better.

“The one thing I am surprised about is that people are surprised at how badly they are playing.”

“I’ve seen a lot of them this season and I must say that Saturday was a normal performance.

“You go to Old Trafford now and you are just not entertained and that is a serious problem when you are a club like Manchester United.”

“Finishing in the top four is going to be a struggle looking at the results since Van Gaal took over.”
