UEFA charge Manchester United, Liverpool over crowd trouble

UEFA have charged Manchester United and Liverpool over the behaviour of their fans during last night’s Europa League clash at Old Trafford.

Greater Manchester Police made five arrests following fighting in the stands and European football’s governing body have now charged the two clubs with a number of offences.

The charges include: throwing objects, illicit chanting, blocking stairways, crowd disturbances, late kick off, and fans setting off fireworks.

UEFA say the case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on May 19.
