Wayne Rooney is back in training at Manchester United.
The Sunday World says Rooney looks set to make a swift return to action after he returned to light training following his knee injury.
There were initial fears that Rooney would not play for United again this season and suggestions that he could even be a doubt for England’s Euro 2016 campaign next summer after he strained knee ligaments following his side’s shock defeat against Sunderland on February 13th.
Yet Rooney has already been given permission to walk without the knee brace he has been wearing for the past three weeks, with United hopeful that can have their skipper back quicker than expected.
The upcoming international break means United have a two week gap into their fixture list following their clash against Manchester City on March 20th, with Rooney likely to target a return against his former club Everton at Old Trafford on April 3rd.
