Manchester United hero Dwight Yorke has urged fans to ease the hype around Marcus Rashford.
The youngsters dramatic first-team ascent at Manchester United came as a shock to most.
He rose to prominence last month with four goals in his first two senior games, including a double against Arsenal.
But Yorke, speaking exclusively to 888sport said: “It’s too early for the kid and he is nowhere near ready.”
“He’s come in and got lucky and took his opportunity but we’ve seen this before where everybody raves about a kid because it is such a big club.”
“He deserves all the publicity he got from his goals and that’s fine but we’ve seen this situation before with Macheda where everybody thought he was going to be huge but it didn’t quite work out.”
“This kid will either go far or we’ll never hear from him again but right now it’s far too early to say he’s anything amazing.”
“This is a great learning curve and we’ll see next season if he makes strides but right now he needs to keep his head down and keep working.”
