Brighton striker Glenn Murray thinks Wilfried Zaha would’ve been “one of the best” if he had joined Manchester United while Sir Alex Ferguson was still manager.
In a recent interview, Zaha described his time at Old Trafford as “hell” after he claimed United left him to fight his demons alone.
After only making four appearances for the Red Devils following his £15million move, he was eventually sold back after only two years in Manchester.
And former Palace player, Murray, thinks if circumstances had been different for Zaha, we could have seen a very different path for the 25-year-old.
“It’s a tough one,” Murray told talkSPORT.
“Palace definitely bring the best out of him and I’m sure it would be a worry in Wilfried’s mind that if he was to move again it may not go as well.
“I’m sure he’ll be a little bit scarred from the Man United move.
“But for me, I’ve seen him come through as youngster and he is a fantastic player, the only way is up for him.
“And I honestly believe that if Fergie was still at Old Trafford when Wilfried went up there, he would be one of the best now.”
