Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel admits he was disappointed to lose Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenia midfielder joined Manchester United last week – much to the disappointment of Tuchel.
Tuchel has seen some of his best players leave the club this summer, with Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan also departing to Bayern Munich and Manchester City respectively.
“It was no more disappointment than with Mats (Hummels) and Ilkay (Gundogan) here,” Tuchel remarked yesterday.
“But I’m a big fan of Henrikh. Of course, I was disappointed.”
Tuchel added: “It feels like a new beginning. Three very important players have left us, who have had a huge impact on the team. They were exemplary. It’s more than normal departures.
“Losing these three players – it’s like missing three pillars.”
