Manchester United still have a chance to sign Renato Sanches this summer as AC Milan are balking at the midfielder’s loan fee.
Sanches wants to leave Bayern Munich during the current transfer window after growing frustrated at a lack of playing time.
The Portugal international made only 17 Bundesliga appearances last season and he believes he can secure more action elsewhere.
Originally it had been reported the 19-year-old would join AC Milan on a permanent transfer in a deal worth nearly £35m, but that is now off the table.
Instead Bayern only want to loan out Sanches for a year and, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan have been put off by the fee demanded.
The Italian club are ready to pay around £1.3m to take the midfielder on loan for the season, but Bayern want a staggering £6.7m.
That has led to a deal with Milan being on the rocks and Manchester United could now swoop in to snatch Sanches away from the San Siro club.
Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Portugal star and he may decide to bring him in for a year to provide reinforcements in midfield.
