Juventus are ready to rival Manchester United’s pursuit of full-back Joao Cancelo, according to reports in Italy.
Cancelo joined Inter last summer on loan from Valencia and the San Siro giants have an option to sign him on a permanent deal for £30m.
The Portugal international has been in fine form in Serie A this term, racking up 18 appearances and grabbing three assists.
Inter remain hopeful of signing Cancelo permanently but they are unwilling to pay the £30m they had pre-agreed with Valencia.
The stall in negotiations has opened the door for Manchester United, who are closely monitoring the 23-year-old’s progress.
Jose Mourinho is expected to have a major summer clear out at Old Trafford and defensive reinforcements are under consideration.
Cancelo is one name that could arrive at the end of the season, but United will likely face stiff competition from Inter and now Juventus, according to Calciomercato.
Juve believe they can see off competition from their transfer rivals and snap up Cancelo, whose current contract with Valencia runs until 2021.
