Super agent Mino Raiola is due in England today for more talks with Manchester United.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Paul Pogba’s agent Raiola will fly to Manchester to iron out the final details on the €110m transfer from Juventus, which will set a new record for the highest fee ever paid for a player.
It’s claimed an agreement is now just “hours away”.
Italian champions Juventus spent a large chunk of the money they will receive for Pogba by completing a €93.4m deal for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain on Tuesday, with the shock waves from that deal likely to ripple through Italian football for weeks to come.
At the age of 29, Higuain appears to be a hugely expensive purchase for Juve, who are reportedly paying the vast transfer fee over the course of the next two summers, yet they clearly feel it is a deal worth making as they prepare to sell Pogba.
Confusion over who should pay Raiola’s vast fee for his role in the deal is believed to have held up the final negotiations, but that problem should be resolved when the agent flies into Manchester for final talks, says the Sunday World.
