Jose Mourinho has a pre-contract in place with Manchester United, it has been revealed.
El Pais says a source from Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute agency – who represent Mourinho – confirmed he has already signed to join United, but that the Red Devils can still change their mind.
Should that happen, Mourinho will be due £15 million in compensation if he is NOT appointed by the club by June 1 – courtesy of a penalty clause.
It’s suggested May is the key, because it’s the month in which the vast majority of new signings are closed and the plans formed.
And it’s also claimed United board members Sir Bobby Charlton and former manager Sir Alex Ferguson remain reluctant to hand Mourinho the reins.
