Manchester United are ready to make Alexis Sanchez the best-paid player in English football and one of the biggest earners in world football.
Jose Mourinho is desperate to land the Arsenal forward this month and United have blown rivals Manchester City out of the water to ensure they get their man.
Sanchez is understood to have already agreed a contract with United and is waiting on a fee to be agreed, with Arsenal potentially securing Henrikh Mkhitaryan in exchange.
Though the Chilean is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer, the transfer fee, a signing-on lump sum and an agent’s fee means the 29-year-old could end up costing United a staggering £180million.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Sanchez will be paid more than £500,000-a-week.
It is considerably more than United’s record signing Paul Pogba is paid and will make Sanchez British football’s highest earner.
United are still to agree a fee, with Mkhitaryan currently proving a stumbling block, but would be expected to pay around £30million.
Sanchez is also slated to receive a £20m signing on-fee and his agents will be paid more than £10m, making the entire deal worth £180m.
