River Plate vice-president Matias Patanian admits they’re keen on Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
The Red Devils stopper has failed to get past David de Gea and break into Louis van Gaal’s first team this campaign.
Patanian said: “Romero is a very good goalkeeper, that’s nothing new.
“River is always interested in good players and Romero is one of them.”
“It’s true what he said about that we haven’t got in touch with him, but that is because we are waiting for our coach to tell us if he finally wants us to make an offer to Romero.”
“In football you never know, what today is no, tomorrow is yes. I think that it can be interesting for him coming to River.”
“We are the latest Copa Libertadores champions and we are willing to win that title again this year because we want to go back to Japan in December for trying to win the Fifa’s Club World Cup.”
