Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer says the club has absolutely no intentions of offloading Thomas Muller.
The Germany international remains a target for Manchester United who reportedly made a massive £78million offer for him last summer.
Muller, 26, is contracted to Bayern until 2021 and not even then are the Bundesliga giants looking to sell their star man who came through the youth academy of the Bavarian club.
“Muller came from our youth and is one of the team leaders along with Philipp Lahm and Manuel Neuer,” Sammer told the Sunday Times.
“He neatly slid into the role Bastian Schweinsteiger left behind. And you can’t pay for them.
“You cannot pay for these pieces of the puzzle. You don’t sell them unless you are desperate for money, which Bayern is not.
“So Bayern doesn’t have to sell Thomas and has no reason to in future. You can’t replace such players.”
