Manchester United transfer target Ivan Perisic is close to agreeing a new contract with Inter Milan, according to reports in Italy.
The Red Devils have been tracking the Croatian international all summer as they bid to sustain a Premier League title challenge ahead of the new season.
But with the Europa League winners struggling to settle on a fee with the Italian giants, the 28-year-old has been offered fresh terms to extend his stay at the San Siro.
According to Premium Sport, Inter have offered the winger a €6million (£5.4million) a season contract in an attempt to convince Perisic his future lies in Serie A.
Sporting director Piero Ausilio rubbished reports earlier in the week that Perisic was Premier League bound and confirmed the club were in negotiations to extend the player’s contract.
Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has been mooted as a possible alternative transfer target despite his agent dismissing the idea his client could leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
